
This year will mark the return of the all-series format for the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2015. The bracket is far from being set, but the playoff picture is starting to look more and more clear as games become more and more important for teams trying to punch their ticket.

Here’s a look at where things currently stand as far as the WNBA Playoffs are concerned. NBA TV will televise certain games, and CBS Sports struck a TV deal for the rights to air select games during the season as well. Pre-season training usually gets underway towards the end of September, with the season proper beginning at the end of October.Įach NBA season sees every team playing 82 games, with each team playing every other team in the competition at least twice. The 30 NBA teams are divided into two conferences, each of which has three five-team divisions. All but one of those teams are based in the USA, with the sole exception being the Toronto Raptors, who are based in Ontario, Canada. Whilst the NBA only had 11 teams when it began, the subsequent merger with the National Basketball League obviously changed that situation, and there are now some 30 teams playing in the NBA. Originally known as the Basketball Association of America when it was formed in June, 1946, it merged three years later with the National Basketball League and adopted its current name shortly afterwards.
